In 1936 a Grimsby fishing trawler, the Girl Pat, made headlines for an unauthorised 6,000 mile voyage across the Atlantic ending in the arrest of her captain, George ‘Dod’ Orsborne. Our speaker for the evening is Eddie Little, the author of a new book about George’s escapades. Was the trip one of espionage, pure adventurism or just foolhardy?
